Undergraduate Minor Degrees

To declare a major or minor in any of these areas, consult with a department advisor.

Near Eastern Studies Minor (NES)

The Near Eastern Studies minor requires a minimum of 18 units, nine of which must be upper division. Students select from ARB, NES, PRS, TURK.

NOTE: Students majoring in NES may not minor in the primary language they are using for their major, i.e. if a student is focusing on Arabic for the NES major, they may not use those ARB credits to count toward their minor.

Arabic Studies Minor (ARB)

The Arabic Minor (ARB) requires a minimum of 18 units, including 9 upper-division units of course work (3**, 4**). Students select from ARB.

Persian Studies Minor (PRS)

The Persian Minor (PRS) requires a minimum of 18 units, including 9 upper-division units of course work (3**, 4**). Students select from PRS.

Turkish Studies Minor (TURK)

The Turkish Minor (TURK) requires a minimum of 18 units, 9 of which must be upper-division (3**, 4**). Students select from TURK.

NOTE: A 2.00 Minor GPA is required for all minors.
